Benny and the Bank

Today when I went to the bank, they surprised me with a wrapped present. I thought it was for xmas, but they told me to open it now. I unwrapped it to find a beautiful picture frame with a picture of me and Benny in it. Tasha had taken the picture when Benny was 11 weeks old and I had brought him to the bank. I'm going to miss being able to hold him like that.

BTW, I bank at Umpqua Bank and they truly are the greatest bank. It is a large community bank in Oregon, Washington, and Northern California with a great set of values. The Tualatin branch is the best.. Thanks Tasha, Marc, Abbie, and Kayla... all four of you rock!

He goes downstairs!

The point of the blog is to post milestones in Benny's life. We live on the 3rd floor of an apartment complex. The stairs to go down have spooked Benny out ever since we moved here and he wouldn't go down them. We had to carry him everytime. With him getting bigger, Blake and I were hoping he'd get over the stair fear sooner rather than later, but we never pushed him. Benny took his first steps down the stairs and now he decends them with ease. It is amazing to watch him learn.

The First Snow

This morning, we drove east of Portland for an hour to Mt. Hood and took Benny to Alpine Lodge. The past week in Oregon has been cold, but completely sunny. Today was Benny's first time on snow. He liked it and wasn't phased by the snow at all. At first though, he did take a little time getting his traction down... but then, he decided that it was nice enough to lay in. However, the snow was really exciting for Benny and fun for us all. It was so much fun, that Benny slept like a rock the entire drive home.
